Naveed,
We also use the "del volhistory todate=today-5 type=dbb" command to
handle our database volumes.
We have also setup a DEVCLASS of 'OFF' with a different prefix and
point our database backups to it using the command "BA DB DEV=OFF
TYPE=FULL SCR=YES". To alter the 'access' of these volumes and bring
them onsite and offsite on a daily basis, we use the following commands
through administrative schedules: "UPD VOL * ACC=READW
WHERESTG=OFF_COPYPOOL WHEREST=EMP WHEREACC=OF" and "UPD VOL * ACC=OF
WHERESTG=OFF_COPYPOOL WHEREACC=READW,READO WHEREST=FUL,FIL". Our tape
management system takes care of the checking volumes in and out of the
library.
