  Subject: External Library Support on AIX

  On the ADSM for AIX Version 2 server, we do support external libraries.  The
  functions
  supported are MOUNT PRIVATE, MOUNT SCRATCH, DISMOUNT, and RELEASE (return
  a volume to scratch).   See Appendix A of the ADSM for AIX Administrator's
  Guide for
  details on the interface.  (SH35-0134-01).

  An ADSM library is identified as an external library by the:
  DEFINE LIBRARY yourname LIBTYPE=EXTERNAL EXTERNALMANAGER='somePathid'
  where somePathid is the external program that handles the requests.

  NetTAPE (5765-637)  is an IBM offering that uses this interface.
