We are currently sending tapes of a copypool offsite to provide
for diaster recovery.
Each night we mark a tape "offsite" and ensure that the
reclamation threshold is set to 100 percent for that copypool.
1) The question is, at the end of an eight week period, if we retrieve
all the tapes from offsite storage, can the space be
reclaimed/condensed so that we can make sure that our copy pool does not
proliferate to a
large number of tapes?
2) What is the correct procedure for moving data offsite, daily, in the
case where we are the sole holders of the archived data sets?
3) If we assume that all the tapes are less than half full will
reclamation be accomplished?
