as far as I know from the documentation on ADSM:
This is NOT a bug, it is a feature!
For a more concise description of this "feature" and
the different behaviour of ADSM backup/restore and archive/retrieve
functions concerning symbolic links, see the excellent user's guide at

(in particular chapter 2.7.2).
