Stephen,
Firstly the bad news. The ADSM server for NT will only work with
automated tape libraries supported by the ADSMSCSI device driver.
Your library is not supported.

The ADSMSCSI driver only starts if it detects devices that it supports.
If it fails to detect available devices it won't start. I don't know
what exactly your Seagate library is, but if it contains fairly standard
4MM drives with separate SCSI id's for each drive then a native NT
4MM device driver will probably detect and acquire the drive(s) when it
is started. This won't however support the autochanger. If you have
started such a device driver, ADSMSCSI won't be able to acquire the device
and will fail to load.

A quick check for what is going on is to start the ADSM server utilities
and click on the diagnostics icon. This displays the detected SCSI
devices. If there are no tapes displayed, then no device drivers are
running. If the tape shows up with an NT device name (//./Tape0) then
you have a NT driver loaded. If it displays an ADSM name (MT4.0.0.0)
then ADSMSCSI is using it.

The bottom line is that your library isn't supported and won't work.
However, ADSM can use NT drivers for manual drives within the library
assuming they work OK with the appropriate NT device driver.
