Hi there,

One of our clients is running OS/2 and it is giving some strange values for
the Data transfer rate in the dsmsched.log files. The ADSM server is
running on an AIX 3.2.5 machine.

Following are the results obtained from the dsmsched.log file for the OS/2
machine:

02/14/1997 03:19:36 Successful incremental backup of 'D:'

02/14/1997 03:19:36 Total number of objects inspected: 2,314
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Total number of objects backed up: 167
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Total number of objects updated: 0
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Total number of objects rebound: 0
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Total number of objects deleted: 0
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Total number of objects failed: 1
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Total number of bytes transferred: 5.2 GB
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Data transfer time: 875.08 sec
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Data transfer rate: 6,245.44 KB/sec
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Average file size: 31.9 MB
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Elapsed processing time: 5:16:04
02/14/1997 03:19:36 Scheduled event 'OS2-CLIENT' completed successfully.

As shown above, the transfer rate is giving a value of 6.2 MB/sec which
does not sounds right. The data transfer rates for the other clients other
than OS/2 are in the range of 800KB/sec to 1.4MB/sec.

Does anyone else has experieced this strange data transfer rate value in
the dsmsched.log file of their OS/2 machines? Any comments???

Naveed.
