Jane,

Restore works as follows:

   If the directory exists, it is not restored - ADSM uses the
      existing directory.

   If the directory does not exist:
      For the command line client: the directory is restored with
                      backed up attributes if subdir=yes.
      For the GUI:
           Restore by Subdirectory Branch: the directory is created
                 and restored with backed up attributes.
           Restore by File Specification/Restore by Tree: the
                 directory is created with default directory attributes.


For Files:

Files are restored with their backed up permissions when
replace=yes, all.
If replace=no, ADSM does not restore the existing files.
up, ADSM does not restore the file.

Option Verbose shows name and size information for
files backed up and restored, not permission information.
