1. - Yes - I have seen this.  I think it's because that, unlike the scheduler,
there is no fixed process that goes through and purges the log on a regular
basis.  It seems that the log is purged whenever it is written to; therefore,
if you have no errors for several days, then no pruning takes place.

2.  Have you tried the QUIET option - I belive it does what you are asking
for.

1.  Does anyone else have a problem with the DSMERROR.LOG not being
cleared out as per ERRORLOGRETENTION parameter?  Is this specific to
Netware?

2. Is it possible to control which messages go into the DSMSCHED.LOG?
More specifically, I am thinking that it would be good to see summary
information (i.e. number of files, amount of data, throughput, etc.)
instead of every single file that is backed up.
