Hello,
I ran today in problem with handling of "inaccessible" volumes
in tape robot IBM3494 under ADSM Server 2.1.5.9.
IBM service had to repair tape stuck in 3590 (plastic block on
beginning of tape was ripped off) and took tape out of tape unit.
Afterwards it is not possible to do checkin with checklabel or do
audit volume because Library manager still thinks volume still stucks
in tape unit. Output of mtlib:
root@sp2b03:/> mtlib -l /dev/lmcp0 -f /dev/rmt0 -qV -VA00024
Volume Data:
state................Volume present in Library, but Inaccessible
After partial inventory now LM no longer assumes tape in tape unit,
but still thinks volume is inaccessible.
Mtlib:
root@sp2b03:/> mtlib -l /dev/lmcp0 -f /dev/rmt0 -qV -VA00024
Volume Data:
state................Volume present in Library, but Inaccessible
Volume is Misplaced
There is no checkout of volume possible:
ANR8310E An I/O error occurred while accessing library IBM3494.
ANR8437E CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME for volume A00024 in library IBM3494 failed.
Anyone else had this kind of queer situation resp. knows how to get out of it ??
