 The New ADSM WebShell Web-browser Interface Is Now Available
 ============================================================

 The WebShell backup/restore Web-browser interface for ADSTAR
 Distributed Storage Manager (ADSM) is now available on our
 anonymous ftp server.


 What is the ADSM Web-Browser Interface?
 ---------------------------------------

 The WebShell Web-browser interface allows administrators and end users
 to take advantage of familiar, easy-to-use Web browsers -- such as
 Netscape Communications Corporation's Navigator and Microsoft's
 Corporation's Internet Explorer -- to conduct storage management
 tasks. The WebShell Web-browser interface, which runs on OS/2 Warp,
 Windows NT, Windows 95, and AIX platforms, can be used to:

     - query backup status of files
     - back up all new and changed files
     - back up selected directories and files
     - and, most importantly, restore selected files and directories.

 WebShell works with all ADSM storage management server platforms.

 A help-desk administrator can also use the WebShell Web-browser
 interface to remotely initiate a backup and restore on behalf
 of an end user.
