Hi,
we ran into the situation a few weeks ago,
but this problem can easily be fixed.

This is the standard setting for AIX ulimits:
prompt> ulimit -a
time(seconds) unlimited
file(blocks) 2097151 <=== Max. File size < 1GB
data(kbytes) 131072
stack(kbytes) 32768
memory(kbytes) 32768
coredump(blocks) 2048
Just set new ulimits before working with ADSM/formatting database files,
e.g.
prompt> ulimit -f 4194304
for a filesize up to 2 GB.
Bye,
/dh
