Recently we obtained an RS/6000 with an ESCON card. We are planning on using
 this card to backup the RS/6000 to our host using ADSM and TCP/IP. Does
anyone have experience with this kind of setup? We ran a preliminary FTP from
the host to the RS/6000 which transfered 17 MB in 34 seconds. This seems slow
to us. Should an ADSM backup be faster? Hardware and software are as follow:

 Host:   IBM 9672-R83 running MVS/ESA 4.3, DFSMS 1.2, TCP/IP 3.1, ADSM 2.1
 Client: RS/6000-J30 running AIX 4.1.4, ADSM 2.1

Any info would be appreciated.
