Ok, I know everyone has said don't do this BUT...

This server is sitting here with an expiration and a migration process
running along with four client sessions and NOTHING is happening.
I know everyone says this is not a good thing to do (and now I see why)
but the server has come to a complete stop! I have been watching it for
more than 20 minutes now and _not_a_single_byte_ has moved anywhere.
The expiration started 1hr 45min ago and has only expired 8800 file
while the migration started about 45min ago and has moved only 5 files
(28K worth) and the four sessions are all in the Run state but the
bytes sent and the bytes recvd have not incremented one click!

It has been more than 25 min now (this is only the time I have been
watching it) there must be some problem with the server to make it
lock up like this, I was under the impression that multiple processes
just made the server slow not STOP! Wait a minute it looks like
things are starting to move now.... I ran an incremental from my system
to keep an eye on the server. ...the sessions have just started to
move bytes and the expiration and migration are incrementing deleted
and moved files respectively.

What caused this? Is there any contention at all between a migration
and an expiration that would explain this?
...curious to hear other ideas or theories.

IBM - Is there any history or reports of the server locking up for a
period of time like this? Does anyone have any explanation?

Configuration: RS6000 model 980, AIX 3.2.5 running server 2.1.0.4
