FW: overwriting the dsmsched.log
1996-04-10 07:21:00
The schedlogretention and errorlogretention parameters can control how many
days worth of log information to keep... you could set this to 1 (day) to
keep it to a minimal size... You could also have the schedule invoked with
the -quiet parameter so the system doesn't log every file that's backed up.
Only other possibility, which I haven't tried, would be to use the
PRESCHEDULECMD parameter to issue a command to delete dsmsched.log before
the incremental backup starts.
Good luck !!!

Subject: overwriting the dsmsched.log

I've looked but so far found nothing giving me
the option to overwrite instead of append
the dsmsched.log file on the client at the start
of scheduled backups/archives.
Especially during archives, this file will get
larger than I want over time.
I can use other means in unix to deal with this
but would like to have ADSM deal with it.
Any help would be appreciated.
