According to the documentation of the SET SERVERNAME command, you should
be able to set the server name to a character string of up to 64 characters.
However, I find that if the name exceeds 8 characters, the SET SERVERNAME
command will accept it, but attempts to reach the server with that name
will fail, as with message:
ANS5503E File '/usr/lpp/adsm/bin/dsm.sys', line 41,
value 'Servername ABCDEFGHI' is not a valid option.
That is, it works with name ABCDEFGH, but not with a 9th character.
(This is on an AIX system, with ADSM Version 2.)
Has anyone experienced this? Solution?
