A couple ways of ways of doing this.  The first one is of the retention
requirements are longer than the current retention values moidfy the backup
copy group associated with the current mangement class.  The second option
would be to setup another mangement class and copy group for the managemnet
class you have just setup, and then use the include option in each affected
client to use the new mangagement for whichever directories or files you want
to use the new management class --- since it may not be your default
management class for that policy set.

include c:\longdir\*.*   newclass
    or
include c:\longdir\spec.*   newclass
