Paul,

No conversion should be necessary. At the Mac client grant access
authorization to the new DOS node. Then retrieve the desired files.
The Type and Creator codes and the resource fork of the Mac file will
be lost. If the resource data is important then you might have to
take some steps to preserve it. Type and creator codes are only used
for associating data files with an application. These are not
important to a DOS system.

We do this all the time. If works OK as long as the files are from
mainstream programs, i.e. wordprocessors, spreadsheets, etc.

If you need to repair Type and Creator codes the shareware program
File Typer is available on info-mac. A super program for only $30.
