Did you try increasing the COMMTIMEOUT value on the ADSM server?  I think
the default is 60 seconds... might want to try increasing it to 300 seconds
or more, especially when you're dealing with slow connections like this.

Hello,

Never mind that its slow but I when I used adsm from home using a
ppp hookup. When I fire it up it does about 10 files then gets stuck.
It shows the last file transferred at 100% but then the MVS server cuts
the connection after a 60 second timeout. Anyone else run into this
problem?
