   The status of all operations for a particular backup server, or servers, can 
be accessed
locally (at the backup server), or remotely.  This provides the summary status 
of backup
operations - whether they completed normally, or not, what date/time each 
backup began and
ended - but does not provide detailed information about the specific files, 
transmission
rates, of individual backup operations.

   No.  The node name and password are not restricted to individual network 
addresses, or
protocols.
