The point is that IBM should sell software that works out of the box
with the hardware on the supported device lists.

What's the point of the list if the devices are not really supported?

Yes, I would reccomend software with an inferior feature set. ADSM's
great promises do not do any good if the software does not work. The
cost of the software coupled with the outrageous number of hours for set
up and trouble-shooting have made this quite an expensive product.
