Paul,
We are just beginning to look at implementing ADSM on a Sun server. We are
evaluating DLT vs. 3494 as the tape technology of choice. We expect to bring
in evaluation tape units. I would be interested in knowing what you are
looking to replace and why?

I would also like to know if anyone has implemented a Sun/ADSM solution. If
so, what is the configuration of your backup server?
how much data are you backing up?
how long does it take to backup that data?

Any information would be helpful.

This is my first time posting to this forum, so if I am out of line in any of
my questions/statements, please let me know.

We are looking into DLT as one of the possible capacity expansion options
for our ADSM/6000 server.

Can anyone from IBM comment on whether additional DLT libraries are currently
going through the certification process (other than the 4 Quantum libraries
that are currently supported)? If so, which ones?

Also, I have seen several folks ask on this list whether anyone is currently
using DLT with ADSM, but I can't recall if anyone ever replied "yes".
Any experience out there?

Thanks.

..Paul
