I would also like to concur with what Paul said.  I started this list almost
two years ago in order to facilitate ADSM administrators supporting each
other.  The product is very robust, with a wide variety of options and
clients.  Therefore, its sometimes tricky figuring out the best way to
do things.  I had hoped that we could learn from each others experiences,
which is much of what you see on this list.  However, it has far surpassed
my expectations because the IBM product developers have taken a very active,
even pro-active presence on the list.  The list has now become a place where
problems are reported and discussed very openly.  In some cases, IBM
has even solicited our suggestions for how to correct a problem.  I see this as
a sign of health for the ADSM product, not weakness.  All products have
problems, ALL OF THEM!  Not all companies are willing to admit that, or even
fix them.  Certainly, very few are willing to discuss them openly, in a
public forum.

As for ADSM itself, we are very pleased with it.  We don't use it as
heavily as many I have heard of, but that is due to our resource limitations,
not the product.  It does back up our critical LAN servers, which was our
main concern.  There are a number of big improvements coming out in the
next release, and we are eagerly awaiting the announcement of R2 for VM.
