When we installed ADSM here, one of my colleagues made the excellent
suggestion that we define an alias IP address of ADSM.PRINCETON.EDU
and use that in all of the client options/preferences files.  That
has turned out to be a very good thing.  We have already moved the
IP connection three times.

I don't know any way out of your current problem, other than to change
all those client options files, but I suggest that you change them to
point to a generic ADSM node so that you won't have to do all of this
again.
