It seems that the Mac and Windows clients place statistics in the
schedule log even when the 'quiet' option is on. The same end set of
stats you'd get if you used the 'verbose' option, number of files,
elapsed time etc...I called in a problem for the Unix clients, well
at least the Sun and Ultrix clients, because of the lack of those
stats. (One of our users pointed out this inconsistancy to me) I
was informed however, that this didn't seem to be a bug, the Unix
clients should not place those stats in the schedule log. I was
told they'd consult with development and get back to me.

I'm looking for opinions, I think all the clients should have the
same information in their logs, consistancy should be a virtue with
a multi-platform product. Upon reflection I find that I like the
idea of having the stats in the schedule log even with the quiet
option. It's only a matter of 8-10 lines extra. We're pretty
de-centralized and users didn't like the size of the logs with the
verbose option but, did want to have some idea of how much data
and how many files were being backed up. Of course, the new
schedlogretention option could be used to solve the problem with
the huge log files generated by the verbose option. Anyone else
have an opinion about whether or not to request that the unix clients
place just the stats in the schedule log even with the quiet option?
