Well I know it's running fine on 5 different 7100's here.  4 are at
various locations but the one down the hall, is running 7.1.2 and is
real close to a plain jane installation.  It has MacTCP (of course) and
Network Time for additional Control Panels but I don't see anything
else offhand.  All 5 machines here do weekly backups and I just ran one
manually, no problems.  I'd doubt it was the 7100 hardware-wise.  Try
booting without extensions and if it works then, add them in one at a
time.  i'm not much of a Mac hack though but, did have to do that once
before, slow and painful but I found the problem.
