Peter,

You are in luck! In our next ADSM client maintenance release
(due out at the end of this month), we added two new options:
SCHEDLOGRETention and ERRORLOGRETention, to do just what you want.

SCHEDLOGRET and ERRORLOGRET allow you to tell the
ADSM client how many days worth of log data to keep in
schedule log file and the error log file respectively.
They also allow you to preserve the pruned out entries in a
separate file if you wish, or simply discard them.
The default is to act like ADSM acts today, with the logs
growing indefinitely.

Syntax details will be in the README files that come with
the maintenance PTF. Don't expect your log files to shrink the
minute you define these options, though - the pruning only occurs
when those files are written to, so you'll need to run a schedule
or incur an error first, and then they'll shrink.

Just hang in there a couple more weeks and I hope you'll be
happy with what you will get.
