We have a situation where several NFS mounted file systems are passed
around among various machines, some of which belong to personal
workstations. Every so often one or the other of these machines is
down and the mounted filesystem is unavailable. The result is that
when ADSM begins to run a backup we get an error message stating bad
filesystem mount. The error message, of course, is true, there is a
bad filesystem mount.
The problem arises though that these NFS mounted filesystems are
preventing machines from being backed up. Since the filesystems
are neither local nor included in the DOMAIN statement, why should
they prevent a backup? Shouldn't ADSM only be concerned about those
filesystems for which it is supposed to backup?
