Well, I've solved my own weird problem.  It looks like the selective
backup wants an asterisk, ie. C:\* to dump all files in the directory.
As I read the book, this shouldn't be necessary and isn't if you specify
a subdirectory, ie. C:\TCPIP.  It appears to me to be an inconsistancy
here.
