||I have a small WDSF server with a dozen or so OS/2 clients and 5 AIX
||clients - like I said, small! All works fine except for one of the
||OS/2 clients. Here is a section of the console log:
||
|| Server startup and a few sessions deletedY
||
||04/28/1994 15:05:39 ANS0100I Session 5 started for node CMIP-DC (OS/2).
||04/28/1994 15:06:31 ANS0120W Protocol error on session 5 - invalid verb
|| header received.
||04/28/1994 15:06:32 ANS0117W Session 5 terminated - protocol violation
|| detected.
||
|| A few more normal sessions deletedY
||
||04/28/1994 23:26:01 ANS0100I Session 14 started for node CMIP-DC (OS/2).
||
||
||ANS0001S Server ABORTING - internal error SMU009 detected.

An SMU009 internal server error seems very peculiar. It specifically
indicates that there is some type of memory overwrite or some type
of memory problem where some WDSF internal server buffers have been
overwritten with garbage. I start to suspect CMS or CP at this point...

WDSF/VM went out of service on 3/31/94. You will not be able to
obtain any more service.

I have a few suggestions:
  1.) Try connecting with different OS/2 clients on different machines.
      IP00847 wasn't the latest WDSF/VM OS/2 client PTF.
      You may want to try connecting with a base OS/2 client or better
      yet, apply the latest WDSF/VM OS/2 client PTF, IP00879.
  2.) Bring your VM system (CP/CMS) up to the latest service level (yuch).
  3.) GET YOUR IBM REP. TO GET YOU A PROGRAM DIRECTORY!

I recommend option 3. If your rep. is having trouble getting a copy,
have her/him contact me.  Thanks.
