 The mountretention is in the Define/Update DEVCLASS.  IBM sends in
a default devclass of CARTRIDGE.  You can change it with -

    upd dev cartridge mountr=nn where nn is from 0 to 9999.

You can define new devclasses if you have different kinds of
cartridges.  You use a devclass as a required paramenter when you
define a tape based storagepool.
