Probably not. ADSM does not require EHLLAPI specifically, but we do require
access to the 3270 extended datastream (structured field support). These
services may be provided via EHLLAPI, as with IBM PC3270 v3 and above, or may
only be available via a low level asm language API, as with Attachmate/Extra!
for DOS. Just because an emulator includes an API and/or EHLLAPI does not mean
that the API supports structured field services. In addition, there is currently
no established 3270 API standard for DOS (probably never will be) or for
Windows (probably will be in the future), so we almost certainly (in the case
of DOS definitely) would have to write additional code to support new emulators.

Currently the IBM PC3270 for Windows (v3 or above) is the only Windows 3270
emulation product I know of which does provide access to structured field
services. Attachmate and DCA have promised this support in the future but
have not made any definite commitments.

For the Windows client, v3 or above is required. For the DOS client v2 or above
is the stated requirement but version 1 will probably work as well.

The reason for this is that the IBM PC3270 for Windows EHLLAPI
did not support structured field services prior to version 3. Earlier versions
of PC3270 for DOS did support these services via a low level API (though not
via EHLLAPI or HLLAPI). Note that there is no low level API for the Windows
product.
