What's your polling interval for status checking?

The last I checked the default cycle was five minutes in NetView for Unix and twenty minutes in NetView for Windows.  NetView usually works by polling the routers since devices which have failed are unable to send traps telling you they have failed.  Until the polling cycle gets around to querying the state of the router there will be no notifications.

Subject: [nv-l] unable to receive a trap

Hi all,

Recently I had gone through a problem

One of my router was down for 10 minutes but the status of the router did not changed ,until I came to know and I tried pinging it ,and there was no trap received from this router when it came up as well,

Would any one like to help me?

Thanks in advance
