Re: [nv-l] Where does nvserverd store cached events with FixPack02

nvserverd does not store events to be
sent to TEC. But the TEC library code might.
nvserverd is linked with the TEC EEIF
library and functions just like any other UNIX TEC adapter. The way
that it works is that events selected to go to TEC by the TEC ruleset are
formatted and are then passed on to the adapter library code with the function
tec_put_event( ). After that, nvserverd is done with the event, and
has no knowledge of whether the event ever gets to TEC. The actual
sending of the event is the TEC library's job. When you set
the value NvserverdServerdTraceTecEvents=YES in the tecint.conf file, what
you are seeing in the nvserverd.log file is a copy of that event immediately
before the tec_put_event( ) is done.
It is up to the TEC library code to
send the event, and if it loses contact with the TEC server, to store the
events in a cache file to be sent later when contact is re-established.
By default the cache file is in /etc/Tivoli/tec but you can
add the BufEvtPath keyword to the tecint.conf file to change the
location to be somewhere of your own choosing,
You can read more about additional keywords
and how TEC adapters work in the TEC Event Adapters Guide, and about how
they are constructed in the Tivoli Event Integration Facility User's Guide.

Hi
NV 7.14 with Fixpack 02
Where does nvserverd store cached events that are waiting to sent to TEC
???
If an event is logged in /usr/OV/log/nvserverd.log - is that event then
received and proccesed on TEC..?
regards
