Are you asking how to create a new smartset
or edit an old one?
Generally speaking smartsets are collections
of objects in the object database. They are maintained by the nvcold
daemon, which determines which objects belong in the collection based
on the rules which define it. So you cannot drag and drop a new object
into an existing smartset. Instead, you must modify the rule which
defines that smartset, or you must create a new smartset.
You are on the Windows platform
as I recall.
You can create a new smartset in Windows
from the GUI (Submap --> New smartset), or from a command window with
the command "smartsetutil".
The command "smartsetutil"
is the only way to edit an existing smartset in Windows. It's a bit overwhelming
for the new user. The command is documented in the NetView
for Windows Programmer's Reference. The best way to learn it is to
look at the smartsets you already have.
smartsetutil -?
will give you all the command options and a detailed syntax plus
examples
smartsetutil G
will list all your existing smartsets and their rules
smartsetutil l <smartsetname>
will list the members of that smartset
Hope this helps
