(-Attempt #2 -This was a response to James Shanks answer under the subject "Unmanaged Interfaces")

So you would say not have everything SNMP polled except for routers/switches unless needed otherwise?  Maybe I am going about my config all wrong but I try to have every node (Servers and routers/switches) snmp polled if its capable of it vs being pinged. I was under the impression that it should be that way.  I would say my environment is small compared to what I have heard/read in this newsgroup (550 nodes) but we are steadily growing.
