[nv-l] ssh and Netview on AIX 5.1

Just catching up on this thread having been away for 3 weeks, but here'smy 2 pennorth...

I've been using ssh on AIX 5.1 for at least 6 months now. I grabbedopenssh 3.7.1 from the Bull site and it works a treat for me. I'vegiven up running X Server software and now use VNC (again there's aversion for AIX on the Bull site) which I tunnel through ssh.Performance is dramatically better and you have the advantage that youcan break the link between client and server and when you reconnect,everything is exactly as you left it. I'm using PuTTY on PCs for the ssh.We needed to do testing for a client who wanted to run a NetView GUI(full thing, not web client) over dial-up. Using ssh and VNC this wasdefinitely useable over standard modem speeds - not startling, butdefinitely possible.
