We call a shell script which extracts the
short name. We then use wpostemsg to send to TEC. You can also reconstruct the
trap with snmptrap if you like.
In shell script, you can so the following
($I is the variable with hostname in it e.g. $NVA):
SHORTNAME=`echo $I | cut -f1 -d'.'`
