Chris,
If
you
only have one map (just the default), the answer is no, you do not have to
re-discover the objects.
1.
ovstop netmon
2.
ovtopofix -A (capital A)
3.
ovstart netmon
4.
Close/Open the read/write map
5.
Be
patient.......
If
you
have multiple maps, you may get unwanted results if you run ovtopofix with the
capital -A parmeter.
i.e. deleted objects will re-appear, etc....
It
would be better to delete and re-discover them.

Greetings
all
I ahve a multitude of
devices
that are connetors. Basically Alcatel switches. with the SysOID of
1.3.6.1.4.1.6486.800.1.1.2.1.3.1.2 I add Alcatel as a Vendor in the
ovw_fields, I also add Alcatel to the snmpagent. I then add an
oid_to_type for this OID to be a connector. That adds them all in the
ovw_fields area. I then do a oid_to_sym to create the (multi-port)
symbol for the device.) Do I need to rediscover all the Alcatel
devices
with this OID in order for the symbolt o appear ont he objects in the
map?
