Raymond,

You are very close to what she needs...except Donna was wanting interfaces
instead fo nodes.   She has 100 interfaces they consider critical.   But I
think that Donna should be able to use your sample and get the interfaces
into the SmartSet.   She just needs to use some different field names to
get the results, but the process is the same.

To narrow your list down to specific IP addresses instead of ranges, use
"=" instead of "~"... "~" means contains.
I use the "Text Editor" instead of "Dialog" for large SmartSet rules.
Your logic may look something like this:
      (('isNode'=TRUE)
       && (('SNMP ipAddress'='172.18.43.10')
              || ('SNMP ipAddress'='172.18.43.20')
              || ('SNMP ipAddress'='172.18.43.30')
              || ('SNMP ipAddress'='172.18.43.40')
              || ('SNMP ipAddress'='172.18.43.50')))

                  "collectioned" from the command line, select "Add", then
                  "Modify" the first rule,  and go from there, The
                  Attribute would be "IP Address".

            Netview 7.1.3 AIX 4.3.3
            In our environment only the loopback address of the router is
            configured in DNS to resolve a hostname to an IP address.
            Therefore, all other interfaces on the routers are IP addresses
            only.

            From our campus routers (approximately 20 routers) our NOC has
            identified very critical IP address interfaces that they want
            put into a single Smartset.  How can I create a smartset that
            will contain specific IP addresses?

            Run the "collectioned" as James stated and select the TEXT
            button at the bottom where you can enter all the IPs you need
            in the correct syntax.  Build the rule in text editor first and
            paste it in box.
