You should try it and let us know. You might get the same result by assigning the address ranges, if they line up right for you.
I have noticed that gateway entries do no help unless you correctly guess the name of the interface that the node will be discovered by. I mean that if you enter the name for the loopback, but discover it by a serial that is unresolved or resolves differently, then the router will not be placed where you want it.

Can wildcards be used in the location.conf file for dns names.
example have many devices that begin with msg-ohio-rtr
I want to put all the devices that begin with msg-ohio- inot one site. Is the following line in location.conf allowed
COR_SITE 0 Site
COR_SITE msg-ohio-*
TIA
