Netview is a network management tool, and doesn't specialize in deamon
monitoring of servers. 

However, to do this, you could write a unix script to run periodically
in cron, and to send an snmptrap to netview if it discovers that a
given daemon is not running.  It's probably  an exercise that involves
10-15 lines of ksh code. 

For application monitoring, Tivoli Framework and friends may be a
better solution.
