A range does not guarantee discovery, only individual entries do that.
An included range merely allows discover, but it does not force netmon to
go look for anything. Only individual entries do that.
When netmon is restarted or you use netmon -y, he re-reads the seed file.
Then he checks the individual entries, making sure they are already
discovered and i the database. When it is time for new node discovery,
netmon reads the arp cache of the boxes he already knows about to find
more. That is why you should use busy, active boxes, like routers, which
have big arp caches because they are constantly talking to other devices,
in the seed file as individual entries. If you don't have a lot of
network traffic to the boxes you put in seed file, then discovery is going
to be quite slow.

Hi all, NV 7.1.3 and fixpack 1 on RH linux

Even i setup correctly my seed file and discovery polling, NETVIEW seem
to discover nothing automaticly...

The only way that Netview discover something is when i ping a node...
(then i see a green box showing this node...)

why netmon dosen't discover my ip range automaticly ?
Do i need to do something else ?

Dominic
Thanks
