That works for me perfectly. It was the MIB INstance 24 that was throwing me off. Thank You!

snmpset -c <write_community_name> <somenode> .1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.30.2.1.5.24  Integer  2

Ensure that the write community name is defined on the agent for "somenode" to allow remote nodes to have set access. You may also need to use a particularly format of its name, short or fully qualified or even IP address so that the association with the community name is made correctly. You will need the leading dot for the OID and the instance tacked on after the OID. Finally you need to use the correct variable type which is this case looks as if would be Integer.

What errors were you getting ?
Can you use the snmpget command to query the same OID on the same device ?
Add the -d option to dump the PDU's and see if that gives you any clues.

NetView 6.0.3 AIX 4.3.3

I am having some trouble with the snmpset command and was wondering if someone could give me an example using the following information:

Hostname: somenode.pepsi.com
MIB: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.30.2.1.5
MIB Instance: 24
SNMP Set Value: 2
Integer
ReadWrite Community Name: private

Timeout, Retries, Port are all default.

Thank You Very Much!
