Fawad,

Do you want labels on the GUI fixed with proper hostnames?    Or, do you
also want selection names fixed in the NetView database?   NetView makes up
no names.   It gets them all from your DNS servers.   So where you have to
fix them is in your DNS configurations.   Once you change them in your DNS
or /etc/hosts file, then you need to take several possible actions in
NetView.

1. If you only want the labels on the GUI fixed, all you have to do is a
demandpoll of that device.    At the end of the text you will see something
about a new name found.

2. If you want the names fixed in the NetView database, then you have to
delete the device out of NetView and rediscover it.    If you have multiple
maps it will not be deleted from the database until it is deleted on all
maps.
