Any idea if it will be compatable with Nortels Optivity NMS 9.2?
Thanks

Thanks for the insight Craig
I have an inquiry going on right now because according to the announcement
letter I have in my hand, shipments will not begin until after the GA date.
But if you have received GA code, by whatever means, then you should be able
to call Support and get help on it. They are all still getting trained on
the new features in it, this week and next, but the problem reporting system
should already be in place to handle calls about 7.1.
So my apologies to Bill McCarter, if he, like you, was not part of the Beta
program and still got the code. I have an official document which says that
is not possible, but I am willing to be proven wrong. Looks like I have
been. So go ahead and install. Level 2 Support should be ready to help if
you have a problem. If we are shipping it, then we are supporting it.

I can confirm that you don't have to be in the Beta test group to get it. I
have it right now, but have not installed it anywhere. I believe account
reps could order it a few weeks ago even though it had not been announced.
I got my copy last week, and was quite surprised when it showed up.
Personally, I don't think a person should expect support until it's
"official", but I was considering installing it somewhere, just to see it
running.

Hold the phone here, Bill.
The production version of 7.1 won't ship until October 26, so if you
already have 7.1, then you have to be part of the Beta program, right?
.
Now to be part of the beta program, didn't you sign an agreement and get
some pointers about not putting things about it, especaailly problems you
encountered on this public list until after it GA'd? I thought all beta
customers agreed to that and were given a special process for getting
support.
Let's continue this discussion offline, because no one else on this list can
help you. I'm not sure I can either, but I know that a problem on code
that has not been released yet cannot be resolved here. Offhand, I'd say you
have a performance problem relating to ipmap, and that it is local to you,
because we did not see anything like that here during Verification.

I recently upgraded to Netview 7.1. The upgrade went fine with 0 errors
during the process, but I've started to
notice this problem. I will receive an event 'Node Down' and it shows up in
my control desk and gets forwarded to my Tivoli Event Console
simultaneously, but it's taking up to 3/4 minutes for the icon representing
the object to turn red on the map. I have ran all the utilities I can trying
to resolve this issue to no avail. (ovmapcount, ovtopofix, resolve database
inconsistencies thru serversetup menu) Any Ideas? Thanks in Advance.
