Hello,

We have experienced that the virtual interface "nr0" will be transparent to
Netview like a normal interface. The virtual interface will be shown as a
standard lan symbol on a map. A switch of interfaces by Netrain will not be
reflected in Netview only the harware MAC address of the active interface
will be shown as the MAC address of the virtual interface card "nr0". (I am
using the standard MIB browser to show the interface information). As far as
I know at this moment there is no standard possibility to show the detailed
status of the Netrain interfaces in Netview unless you create your own piece
of code which shows the neccessary information. It should be nice to receive
a trap when Netrain switches to the redundant interface due to a failure of
the active interface(connection). Any other experiences with Netrain and
Netview are welcome, we are running Netview 6.02 on a Digital Tru64 UNIX
Netrain configuration.

Kind regards

Erwin Nijenhuis
(Software Engineer)
