For what it's worth:  I had a similar problem early on using the
then-new jetty server, and found the cause was a space at the end of the
string in the prp file. Try looking in there and see whether your cursor
goes beyond the final character in each of the lines you edited.  If it
does, backspace or delete the space, and try again.
