You might try the cleanup utility, /usr/OV/service/nvstat -cleanup
It may be able to evaluate the relationships between what is up and what
is down and handle it properly. Also, if you are doing the sudo thing,
that might have something to do with it. I've never been unable to
kill something, that I can recall.

Subject: [NV-L] Unable to stop PMD

Greetings,

I have a bit of a runaway NetView on one of our servers. After graceful
attempts to stop the server (ovstop), I had to resort to kill(1) to kill
all
the OV processes. All went down except for the pmd process. Now, when I
attempt a restart, NetView shows pmd as incorrectly parented and I agree!

There are no GUIs or maps open.

Anyone know why I can't kill pmd and what I can try to do to remedy this
situation?
