Bernard,

     I'm not an expert on that, but I can give you a clue: AD means
Administratively Down. In order to ping that interface you could use
test..ping (as usual) and when you get the error message then delete "AD"
and push "start", if it has sense pinging a down interface.

Hello all,

I have NetView 5.1.1 for AIX

I have noticed some strange IP addresses assigned to some interfaces by
NetView : those addresses are e.g. 10.10.10.10AD
Is anyone aware of what this 'AD' means ?  It is appended (without blank)
to
the IP address.   And, of course, when I try to ping these interfaces, I
get
message 'host name 10.10.10.10AD not found'.

Any info welcome.
