Version 2 versus Version 1 MIBs

Subject: Version 2 versus Version 1 MIBs

I have always been told to load version 1 MIBS instead of the SNMP version
2 MIBS.... but with no real technical reasoning why.  But having trouble
loading version 1 MIBS, I just tried to load the version 2 MIBS and they
loaded easily....  (This being for CISCO products)
In ignorance I ask....  What is the real difference and how will this hurt
me?
